Absences
The school must be notified the day a student returns after an absence. Excused absences are: death in family or family emergency, illness (if a student is absent five or more consecutive days a doctor’s note is required), medical appointments (doctor’s note required), legal reasons, and pre-approved family leave. All other absences will be considered unexcused. If your child wakes up with a fever, please allow him/her stay home from school for the safety of all.
Arrival
Students should arrive no earlier than 7:10. This is when adult supervision begins. Students will wait inside the hallway beside their rooms. If you wish for your student to eat breakfast, they must go to the cafeteria first and then to the hall.
Dismissal
For our students’ safety, Deer Point parents will need to remain in their cars to pick up their child OR they may meet their child at the designated pick up area. Parents will no longer be able to remove their child from their teacher’s line as they leave the building. Teacher’s need to be able to verify who is picking up students before they can release them.
