Homework
Reading Challenge– Your child is challenged to read at least 30 books or chapters each month. It is best to remind your child to read one book each night to help with this responsibility. We realize that you have VERY busy lives, but PLEASE listen to your child read and talk about what is read. Each time a book or chapter is read, please write it on your child’s reading log in the F.I.S.H. Folder for him/her to receive credit for the book/chapter. We will have a special celebration at the end of each month to celebrate those students who meet their reading goal.
In addition to reading with your child nightly, please check the F.I.S.H. Folder for an additional homework.
F.I.S.H. Folder
This is our “take-home” folder. This is a red folder that will be given to your student on the first day of school. Please make sure your student brings this to class every day. This is our line of communication with you. We will send notes, homework, and graded papers in this folder. Please check it each night.
Newsletters
A class newsletter will be sent home at the beginning of each week. It will include important activities that we will be doing in our classes and any other news or reminders from around the school. Please sit down with your child and read the newsletter together.
